Ingredients … You will need
- 3 teaspoons of pumpkin seeds
- 400 gm (14 oz) of organic tofu
- 2 bananas
- 2 medium unpeeled apples
- 1½ litres of rice milk or oat milk
Preparation and Cooking
Quarter and core the apples but do not peel them
Drain and cube the tofu
Grind the pumpkin seeds in a food processor or coffee grinder to release their essential fats and prevent any irritation in the gut.
Add the remainder of the smoothie ingredients and then blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
Many digestive complaints are of an inflammatory nature
So, pumpkin seeds are an important part of this drink as they contain plenty of the omega-3 essential fatty acids, which have an anti-inflammatory effect throughout the body. You could also use sunflower or sesame seeds.
Grind the seeds in a coffee grinder if your food processor is not strong enough, as they can irritate an inflamed digestive system if eaten whole.
