Digestive Food – Refreshing Ginger Mint Tea
This delicious Ginger & Mint Tea recipe is warm, spicy and refreshing.
Ginger contains anti-spasmodic qualities and helps to quell nausea. It is also used to relieve morning sickness during pregnancy.
Peppermint is used in hospitals for its potent calming elements which reduce gas and associated discomfort after abdominal surgery.
This gentle, calming tea will sooth your stomach when digestive upsets prevent you from eating anything at all, as well as relieving cramps and indigestion caused by fatty foods.
Ingredients for Ginger Mint Tea … You will need
[lists style=”check” color=”#81d742″]- 450 gm (16oz) of fresh root ginger
- 6 sprigs of fresh peppermint
- 1.1 litres (2 pints) of still mineral water
Preparation and Cooking
Peel and thinly slice the ginger. Wash the mint leaves and boil the mineral water
Place the sliced ginger and mint into large heat-proof jug and add the hot mineral water.
Leave to stand for at least 15 minutes before drinking.
Make a large batch of Ginger Mint tea and store what you don’t use in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
