Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it
Confucianism rests on the belief that human beings are fundamentally good, and teachable, improvable, and perfectible through personal and communal endeavor especially self-cultivation and self-creation. The moral-spiritual ideal of Confucianism reconciles both the inner and outer polarities of self-cultivation and world redemption, in the ideal of sageliness within and kingliness without. Humaneness is the essence proper of a human being, the character of a compassionate mind.
